Apple hit the gorgeous deserts of Saudi Arabia for its newest commercial which is hands down the dirtiest ‘Shot on iPhone’ ad we’ve ever seen.
The minute-long ad follows a group of Saudi ATV riders as they push themselves, their vehicles and the iPhone 11 Pro camera to the absolute limit. It’s pretty much the exact opposite of the wintery Shot on iPhone ad Apple put out last week and will have you ready to hit some warmer weather.
Apple’s back with another great holiday ad. Photo: Apple
Apple’s annual holiday season ad arrived on YouTube today, just in time for it to be included in all the football games and parade footage on Thanksgiving day.
The three-minute long ad called “The Surprise” follows two young girls who travel to their grandfathers house for Christmas. Of course, there are Apple products spread throughout ad and it’s the iPad that will warm your heart the most.
You should update your iPhone pronto. Photo: Cult of Mac
iPhone and iPad owners received a critical software update this morning aimed at fixing one of the most annoying bugs in iOS 13.2.
iOS 13.2.2 and iPadOS 13.2.2 come just over a week after Apple released iOS 13.2, which contains a nasty memory bug that causes apps to quit unexpectedly in the background. The recent iOS 13.3 beta added a fix for the memory bug, but now everyone can enjoy the bug fix without having to install beta software.

Apple's camera man killed it on this ad. Photo: Apple
Apple just posted a new video advertisement on Youtube, as the company does from time to time.
The ad is about privacy on iPhone which has been one of the company’s biggest talking points over the last few years. Honestly, I don’t think a single word from the ad actually entered my ears. I was too blown away with the creepy beautiful FPV drone shots that transport you from being a distant observer to an intimate guest in someone’s life.
It's getting easier to not be tracked in Maps. And YouTube is getting a timed history auto-delete. Photo: Google
Google just promised that Incognito mode will soon be added to Maps. And YouTube is getting timed auto-delete for the user’s video history. In addition, a new Password Checkup tool helps users avoid common passcodes.
This advertising company has been making similar changes to its other services in hopes of shaking a reputation for privacy invasion.
YouTube is about to get swarmed with new iPhone 11 stress test videos starting on September 20 but Apple just beat everyone to the punch with its latest ad that shows this year’s iPhone is the toughest yet.
Apple dropped two new iPhone 11 Pro ads this morning showing off the durability of the new phones and the triple-camera system. Both ads take place in a grungy sci-fi testing chamber where everything from broccoli to a wedding cake is thrown at the iPhone. Each ad is a minute long and if you don’t fall in love with the fluffy dog in the camera video then you have no heart.
Take a deep breath and dive into the new features with us. Photo: Apple
Apple’s big event today lasted for an action-packed 105 minutes but if you don’t have time to watch the entire presentation, Apple’s got the perfect video for you.
Along with publishing all the new product videos it showed off today, Apple also created its own summary video of the entire keynote. In less than two minutes the video manages to cram in all the new features on the iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11, Apple Watch Series 5, iPad, Apple Arcade, Apple TV+ and more at a frenzied pace.

During today’s big iPhone 11 event, Apple will show us its latest hardware and more. And, as always, you can watch the show live. We’re expecting to learn all about the new iPhone 11, or iPhone Pro, or whatever it’ll be called. Also expected is an update on the incredible new iOS 13, and perhaps another peek at — or evan a launch date for — the new Mac Pro.
Whether you’re watching on your Mac, your iPhone or iPad, or your Apple TV, we’ll show you how to tune in. You can even show up at an Apple store and watch it on the big screen!
Note: Cult of Mac will not be live-blogging the action — instead, you can follow along on Twitter, or join us in our IRC chat room for a watch party.
It’s the first time the company has used Google’s platform for a live keynote. It will make it easier than ever for fans to tune into the action on almost any platform.
Is that titanium? "Nice!" Photo: Universal Studios/YouTube
The Apple Card is the newest status totem and that gave one YouTuber and fan of the 2000 film American Psycho an idea for the re-editing of one scene.
The scene shows cocksure investment banker Patrick Bateman and his yuppie, Italian-suited colleagues vainly comparing the designs of their business cards, each whipping their’s out so to speak.
Susan Wojcicki isn't the first big name in tech to do the same. Photo: Cult of Mac
The CEO of YouTube has joined a growing list of big name tech industry figures who restrict their kids’ access to mobile devices.
Susan Wojcicki says that, “I have times when I take away all my kids’ phones, especially if we’re on a family vacation, because I want people to interact with each other.” Steve Jobs and Bill Gates have previously expressed similar sentiments.
Facebook would be more profitable if users paid a monthly subscription fee. Photo: Jim Merithew/Cult of Mac
Many of our favorite applications are free because advertisers pay for them. But what if that changed? How much would you pay for Facebook or YouTube without advertising… and without these apps profiling everything about you?
A survey conducted by a market-research firm found that subscription fees people would pay for these apps would make them more profitable than they are now.
The scenery in the new Powerbeats Pro ad is astounding. Photo: Beats
The insanely beautiful landscapes of Iceland serve as the backdrop for Apple’s latest Powerbeats Pro ad that will motivate you to get out and run.
Seven runners from the Paris Running Club embark on a daunting relay that takes them 280km through the wilderness of Iceland in the new ad. The goal is to chase the sun that doesn’t set for days and Powerbeats Pro are there every step of the way to make the run more magical.
This looks like one of Apple's best upcoming TV shows. Photo: Apple
Tomorrow is the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing that put Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on that big chunk of cheese in the sky. To celebrate, Apple has put out a new video that talks about the Apollo mission’s impact on the world while also offering some glimpses of its upcoming TV show about the space race.
For All Mankind‘s first trailer came out during the WWDC 2019 keynote and instantly shot up onto our must-watch list. This new video makes the hype even bigger.
Apple tossed some shade at its own product in a new ad that promotes Face ID.
The hilarious new ad shows how much easier it is to use Face ID over Touch ID as a vegged-out guy relaxes in his reclining chair and is too lazy to touch his iPhone XR to see who’s texting him.
Of course Casey Neistat would try this. Photo: Casey Neistat
YouTuber Casey Neistat found a way to bring back the color gold color option to the new Apple Watch Series 4: dunk it in 24 carat gold.
Apple hasn’t made a gold watch since the Apple Watch Edition was cancelled, so Neistat enlisted JerryRigEverything’s creator to come up with a solution. The entire process is a little bit more complex than just dipping a watch in gold, but it’s also so simple you could do it in your living room if you wanted.
These Apple Lenses are waterproofed with style. Photo: Antonio De Rosa
Some pretty badApple Glassesconcepts have graced the homepage of CultofMac over the last two years but this one might be the ugliest one yet. Most concepts go over-the-top with unrealistic tech features. This one has plenty of that, all wrapped up in some Neo Art Deco-style shades that somehow manage to look dorkier than the Microsoft HoloLens. It’s so bad, I’m absolutely fascinated.
If Apple’s long-rumored augmented reality headset looks anything like this we’re going to have to stage a intervention in Jony Ive’s design lab.
Google revealed today that it is unifying all of its Home products under the Nest brand. Instead of having smart speakers from Google and smart home speakers from Nest, everything will be Nest. To kick things off, the company debuted a new product too: the Nest Hub Max.
Subtitles — like many accessibility features — can be useful to anyone. Photo: Cult of Mac
Both macOS and iOS have excellent built-in support for subtitles. And many video player apps will play a subtitle file for you if you just drop it into the same folder as a movie, or even drag and drop it onto a movie that’s already playing.
But if your hearing is fine, why should you bother with subtitles? I came up with a short list:
The audio on the movie/TV show is unclear.
English isn’t your first language, and you appreciate the help.
You want to watch a movie with the sound low.
You don’t understand the accents in that British TV drama.
The good news is that subtitles are easy. And the bad news? There is none.
Apple’s new YouTube channel is a bit odd. Photo: Cult of Mac
Apple is gearing up for the launch of its Apple TV+ streaming service this fall with the creation of a new YouTube channel dedicated to movie and TV shows.
The channel serves up teasers, clips, behind the scenes looks, interviews and more about upcoming shows. While Apple’s lineup of original TV shows are still in development, Apple is focusing on other shows, like Game of Thrones which is in the middle of its final season.
