Emmy winner Brett Goldstein, who plays footballer-turned-coach Roy Kent on Apple TV+ hit comedy Ted Lasso, takes on dual roles as star and co-writer in the new romantic drama All of You, a movie set to debut on Apple TV+ in 2025, the streamer said Wednesday. It offered a “first look” image. And the other writer, who also directs? That’s none other than William Bridges, who writes for Netflix’s darkly fascinating sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror. If often explores the scary side of technological innovation.

And they say All of You is a romantic drama. Well, that’s probably going to be interesting, no matter how much or little the film has in common with Ted Lasso or Black Mirror.

The new Apple Original Film All of You recently garnered critical acclaim at both the Toronto International Film Festival and BFI London Film Festival, Apple TV+ said. The movie marks yet another addition to Apple’s growing collection of prestigious original content. Apple hasn’t said if the new movie will hit theaters upon release or go straight to Apple TV+ streaming.

The story follows two best friends whose lives are forever changed by a groundbreaking soulmate-matching test. Over 12 years, they struggle with their undeniable connection while navigating marriages, parenthood and personal tragedies. That all forces them to question whether scientific certainty should trump matters of the heart.

Starring alongside Goldstein — who we’ll also see in Ted Lasso‘s long-awaited fourth season — in the All of You movie is accomplished actress Imogen Poots. Supporting performances come from Steven Cree and Zawe Ashton. Emmy Award-winning director William Bridges helms the film. He’s known for his work on Black Mirror. He also collaborated with Goldstein on the screenplay. The project comes from MRC and Republic Pictures, with production led by Ryder Picture Company’s Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett.

For Goldstein, All of You represents a continuation of his successful partnership with Apple TV+. The multi-talented creator currently serves as co-creator and executive producer of the Emmy-nominated comedy series Shrinking, and previously won multiple Emmy Awards for his role as Roy Kent in the global phenomenon Ted Lasso. He also served as a co-executive producer and writer on that show.

Streamer aims high

The acquisition of All of You further solidifies Apple TV+’s position as a major force in original content, the streamer said. The service made history as the first platform to win the Academy Award for Best Picture with CODA. It continues to build on that success an Academy Award for The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse in the Best Animated Short category, and 10 Oscar nominations for Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon.

Apple TV+ subscribers can look forward to an impressive lineup of upcoming films, including the recently released Blitz from Oscar-winning director Steve McQueen, and the star-studded Wolfs featuring George Clooney and Brad Pitt. The service is also preparing to launch The Gorge, an action-packed love story starring Miles Teller, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Sigourney Weaver. And then there’s the big Formula One racing film F1, starring Brad Pitt, which will first hit theaters on June 25, 2025.
