The iPhone 16 series only reached customers a few days ago and you can already pick up an official Apple clear or silicone case at well below the usual cost. Apple’s own iPhone 16 cases stand out from the pack thanks to the sapphire crystal overlay on the Camera Control. Most rivals went with a simple cutout instead since they didn’t know exactly how the rumored feature would work. A highlight of all four models in the iPhone 16 series is the Camera Control. Located on the right edge of the handset, it can be used to open the Camera app but also to zoom in and out or easily access various settings.
To access the new button, Apple’s case “features a sapphire crystal, coupled to a conductive layer to communicate finger movements to the Camera Control,” according to the iPhone-maker itself. It’s not just an opening in the case.
The case is thin and light. One version is made of clear polycarbonate with a scratch-resistant coating, but it’s also available in a silicone version in range of colors: pink, green, purple, yellow, blue and black.
MagSafe support means magnets align the iPhone 16 with a wireless charger and keep the two magnetically connected.
Woot offers some colors at a steep discount
The regular price for Apple’s clear or silicone iPhone 16 cases sits at a rather steep $49.99. But you already can take advantage of multiple options for picking up one for less.
The best deal we’ve seen so far comes from Woot. The online retailer knocked the price down to $34.99. And, even better, you can use coupon code APPLEFIVE at checkout for an extra $5 off. This great deal on iPhone 16 cases comes with a couple of caveats, though. There’s no version for iPhone 16 Plus, only the other three new models (iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max). Plus, Woot doesn’t offer all the colors, just clear, pink, green, blue and black (not purple or yellow). Also, the products won’t arrive at your house until sometime between October 8 and October 10.

Amazon took $7 off the usual cost of Apple’s official iPhone 16 cases. That brings the price down to $41.99. While that’s above the Woot deal, the cases ship much more quickly. Plus, there are versions for each of Apple’s 2024 handsets, and every colorway is available, too.
