Apple said it will once again run its annual charitable giving campaign coinciding with World AIDS Day on December 1. And that gives holiday shoppers an opportunity to easily contribute to global health efforts while making their seasonal purchases. In addition, purchases from Apple’s Product (Red) collection contribute to the cause anytime.
November 29 – December 8: Shop with Apple Pay to support The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria
From November 29 through December 8, Apple will donate $5 to The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria for every purchase made using Apple Pay at Apple Stores, through the Apple Store app or via Apple.com. This year’s campaign features a significantly increased donation cap of $3 million, triple the amount from last year’s initiative.
The Global Fund, Apple’s long-standing charitable partner, works to combat HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria in developing nations. Over its two-decade history, the organization has saved an estimated 65 million lives and distributed more than $65 billion in funding for critical health programs worldwide.
Product (Red)
This initiative builds upon Apple’s 18-year partnership with (Product) Red, through which the company has already raised over $250 million for The Global Fund. Customers can further support this cause by purchasing items from Apple’s (Product) Red collection, with a portion of proceeds from these distinctive red-colored products contributing additional funding to the organization.
The timing of this campaign allows holiday shoppers to make their gift purchases more meaningful by triggering automatic donations through their Apple Pay transactions. The campaign runs for 10 days, giving customers ample time to participate in this charitable initiative while completing their holiday shopping.
More meaningful gift giving
Throughout this period, Apple Stores will feature special (PRODUCT)RED window displays, highlighting both the charitable campaign and the collection of red-colored devices and accessories available for purchase. This annual tradition demonstrates Apple’s continued commitment to global health initiatives while offering customers a simple way to contribute to meaningful change during the holiday season.
For those planning their holiday purchases, this limited-time campaign presents an opportunity to maximize their impact by combining holiday shopping with charitable giving, all through the convenience of Apple Pay.
