Apple’s 5K Pro Display XDR is too expensive for regular users. The Studio Display is the perfect monitor for most Apple users, packing a big 27-inch 5K panel.

At $1,600, the monitor is too expensive for what it offers, especially since it is a few years old now. However, a deal on Amazon drops the Studio Display to a lifetime low price of $1,300, making it much more affordable.

Apple Studio Display is the perfect monitor for your desk

Apple unveiled the Studio Display in March 2022 as a cheaper alternative to the company’s Pro Display XDR. Featuring a 5K True Tone display with a P3 wide color gamut, the monitor can hit a peak brightness of 600 nits.

The Studio Display also features studio-quality microphones and a six-speaker sound system.

Inside the Studio Display is an A13 Bionic chip. It powers the 12MP f/2.4 Ultra Wide camera and Center Stage, ensuring you are always in the frame while on a video call, even when moving.

Another highlight of the Studio Display is the upstream Thunderbolt 3 port. It supports 96W charging support. That’s good enough for MacBook Air, but if you have a new M4 Pro/Max MacBook Pro, it won’t fast charge.

There are also three USB-C ports with 10Gbps support for connecting other accessories.

Save $300 on the Studio Display

Apple wants you to pay $1,599 for the Studio Display. That’s a lot of money to pay for a 27-inch 5K monitor. Thankfully, Amazon’s deal makes it a tad more affordable with a $300 discount, which drops its price to $1,300.

If you want the variant with the nano-texture glass, you can only get a modest $100 discount on it.

While not the best monitor around, if you still want a Studio Display, this is the deal you should not miss.

Not as good as Apple's Pro Display XDR, but the 27-inch Apple Studio Display packs an impressive panel coupled with a six-speaker system and studio-quality microphones.

Pros:
  • Crystal clear 5K resolution
  • Excellent color accuracy
  • 12MP Center Stage camera
Cons:
  • Expensive
  • Lacks HDR
  • Height-adjustable stand costs extra
