Apple’s online store is down ahead of the “It’s Glowtime” event later today. The company should unveil the iPhone 16 lineup and Apple Watch Series X at the scheduled event.

Besides the new hardware, Apple Intelligence should be the star of the show.

iPhone 16, new Apple Watch incoming

It is typical for Apple to take down its online store before significant events or product launches. At this point, the company does this to create hype and curiosity for its new launches instead of this being a technical limitation.

The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro will be among the main highlights of Apple’s event today. They will pack minor design and camera upgrades. Thanks to the new A18 series chip, Apple will likely focus more on the phone’s AI prowess and performance. A new force-sensitive Camera button on the new iPhones should also pique consumer interest. Apple will bring back its online store after the “It’s Glowtime” event later today with listings for iPhone 16 and other new products. Preorders for these devices should start later this week, presumably on Friday, September 13. Based on Apple’s track record, they should hit retail stores late next week.

Alongside new hardware product launches, Apple should also reveal the release dates for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, watchOS 11 and macOS Sequioa at the event.
