Eufy expanded its HomeKit ecosystem Monday with the release of the Indoor Cam E30, a sophisticated 4K security camera priced at $69.99. It’s a big upgrade from the 2020 model, marking Eufy’s second HomeKit-compatible camera launch in recent months following September’s S3 Pro Outdoor Cam. E30 upgrades include advanced pan-and-tilt mobility and color night vision through lighting.

Eufy Indoor Cam E30 brings several notable improvements to home security monitoring, though Apple users should note some platform-specific limitations. While the camera boasts 4K resolution, HomeKit users will experience streams capped at 1080p due to Apple Home app restrictions. For full 4K viewing capabilities, you’ll need to use the official Eufy mobile app.

One of the main features of Eufy E30 is its advanced mobility system. The camera offers comprehensive room coverage with its motorized pan-and-tilt functionality. It can rotate 360 degrees horizontally and 75 degrees vertically. And smart tracking complements that flexibility. It lets the camera automatically follow moving subjects to keep them in frame. However, manual position adjustments are exclusively available through the Eufy app, not through Apple Home.

Eufy enhanced the camera’s night vision capabilities by adding an integrated spotlight, enabling color night vision in low-light conditions. Users can choose between color night vision with a range of 16.4 feet or traditional infrared black-and-white night vision that extends to over 32 feet. The E30 also features two-way audio communication, allowing users to interact remotely with household members or pets.

For Apple ecosystem users, the E30 supports HomeKit Secure Video, providing encrypted storage in iCloud and enabling viewing through the Home app. This integration ensures privacy-focused operation with on-device detection. That prevents data from going to Eufy’s servers. However, accessing HomeKit Secure Video requires an iCloud Plus subscription.

The camera’s AI capabilities have been improved to offer more sophisticated detection features. It can now distinguish between humans and pets, and recognize various types of audio cues, including crying infants. All AI processing is performed on-device, enhancing privacy and response times.

Multiple data storage options

Regarding storage options, users have multiple choices. The camera supports local storage via a microSD card slot. That eliminates the need for subscription fees. Alternatively, it can be integrated with Eufy’s HomeBase S380 for expanded storage capabilities of up to 16TB. For those preferring cloud storage, Eufy offers subscription plans starting at $2.99 monthly for single-camera coverage, with a premium plan available at $9.99 monthly for up to 10 cameras.

You can buy Eufy Indoor Cam E30 from Eufy’s website at $69.99, with promotional discounts available. Amazon Prime members can purchase the device at a reduced price of $59.99.
