iOS 18.2 will make searching on Apple Music and Apple TV much easier with natural language support. This means you can use natural language to describe and search for TV shows or music you are looking for.

The revamped Photos app gained support for similar search capabilities with the iOS 18.1 update.

iOS 18.2 is all about new Apple Intelligence features

iOS 18.2 packs several major AI features, like Image Playground and Genomji. It also brings ChatGPT integration into Siri and Writing Tools. It will also bring Visual Intelligence to the iPhone 16 lineup, enabling you to point your iPhone’s camera to an object and get more details about it.

Apple has been beta testing iOS 18.2 since late October, and with the release candidate now out, the company is finally ready to push the update to users. The build should go live for iPhones and iPads next week.

Search naturally in Apple Music and Apple TV

Among the barrage of big changes, Apple is also adding a small but useful change to Apple TV and Apple Music with natural language search support. In its release note, Apple describes the feature as follows:

“Natural language search in Apple Music and Apple TV app lets you describe what you’re looking for using any combination of categories like genres, moods, actors, decades, and more.”

If you have used the AI-powered natural language search in iOS 18.1’s Photos app, you will like this change in Apple Music and Apple TV. You can naturally search for songs you like by saying “artists similar to Linkin Park” in Apple Music. Likewise, in Apple TV, you can search “TV shows like Ted Lasso” to receive similar recommendations.

Natural language search currently only supports English. Natural language search support will only work with English. It should work with more languages as Apple Intelligence gains support for more languages.
