Not everyone keeps an iPad in their computer setup, especially when it’s not their main computer. But today’s M2 Pro MacBook Pro user does. And as commenters on his post noted, he may have found the perfect placement for his iPad Pro stand. He seems to get his laptop and tablet mounts working in perfect unison, within view and also within easy reach.

MacBook Pro setup mounts iPad Pro in perfect position

Redditor eddies92 (“Ed”) showcased the interesting setup in a post entitled, “Neat and clean.” He runs his M2 Pro MacBook Pro (32GB Unified Memory, 1TB SSD) open on a stand. It drives a mammoth 43-inch Dell UltraSharp U4323QE 4K USB-C monitor sitting on a handsome display riser. And he also keeps a 12.9-inch iPad Pro in the setup, which is somewhat unusual (when the tablet is not the main computer).

“Performance on both is great and have no plans to upgrade in the immediate future,” he said of his laptop and tablet. “Performance remains stellar on both for my needs.”

But what’s more unusual than using an iPad in a computer setup is his perfect placement of it. It appears to occupy the ideal space for it, and it’s within easy reach.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone put their iPad underneath their MacBook like that,” noted a commenter. “Looks super functional! Is there a reason why you see it this way?”

“The iPad is kinda dual purpose,” Ed replied. “While all of the equipment is mine, I’m a big believer or separating ‘work’ and ‘personal.’ That said, the iPad serves as a machine vs ‘personal’ side quests / YouTube / third screen when things are really chaotic. It’s nice being to able to control with the same mouse and keyboard as an iPad or as a third screen. Nestling it under the laptop just kinda worked out as it was the perfect dimensional space for it and its easy reach.”

Secret Labs Magnus metal desk

And the whole workstation sits on a desk we haven’t seen before in Setups.

“Is that a Secret Labs Magnus desk?” asked another commenter. “Considering the XL seeing this, not much space left.”

“This is a Magnus XL,” Ed replied. “Yes not ‘much room’ left but I also don’t need more. I’ve learned that more room, means more clutter. You’d have a lot more room to play if you were to run something a bit more normal like dual 27 inch [monitors] on the Secret Lab arms.”

And if you like the wallpaper showing on all four screens in the setup, including the iPhone, it’s Glassy Wallpapers from Basic Apple Guy.
