Apple’s cheapest iPad just got cheaper. The iPad 10th-generation, the cheapest iPad in Apple’s lineup, is on sale for just $279.
This is a great deal for the best entry-level iPad Apple has made for years. It’s the iPad I recommend to most people. I just bought one myself. The price was just too good to pass up.

iPad sale on Cyber Monday
The iPad 10th-generation is Apple's best entry-level iPad for years. Completely redesigned, it has a modern, all-screen design, faster processor and better cameras. Everything you want in an iPad at an affordable price.
- Cool modern design
- Big 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display
- 12MP front and back cameras
- Wi-Fi 6 for fast streaming
- Limited 64GB storage
- No Apple Intelligence
Deep discounts on Apple products are rare, which makes this Apple iPad (10th Generation, 64GB, blue and silver colors) for just $279 at Amazon for Cyber Monday a good deal. .
Released just over two years ago, the redesigned iPad 10th-generation normally retails for $349, and was priced at $450 earlier this year.
Complete redesign
Even though it’s Apple’s cheapest iPad, the 10th-generation is surprisingly awesome. The 10th-gen iPad is a complete overhaul of the 9th-generation iPad, with no Home button, an all-screen design, handsome flat-edges (same as the new iPad Pro and Air models), and must-haves like USB-C charging.
It also offers faster performance, improved cameras front and back, and up to 10 hours of battery life.
It’s also the first to feature a front-facing camera centered on the long edge, making it ideal for video calls or conferences in landscape mode. It even supports Center Stage, which keeps you in the frame during a call (or recording a video), even if you’re moving around.
More stand-out features:
- All‑screen design: 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display supports sRGB color and True Tone.
- USB-C charging: No more Lightning. Good riddance!
- Four great colors: Blue, pink, yellow, and silver.
- Better cameras: The 12MP Wide back camera is great for snaps or as a scanner. The landscape 12MP Ultra Wide front camera is good for FaceTime calls, video conferencing, or selfies.
- Center Stage support: Automatically keeps you centered in the shot.
- Keyboard support: Attach a keyboard like Apple’s Magic Keyboard Folio and tap away all day.
- Apple Pencil support: Works with Apple Pencil (USB‑C) and Apple Pencil (1st generation).
This is the iPad I recommend most

This is the iPad I recommend to most people. Given that most folks use their iPads for consuming media rather than making it, it’s often a waste of money to get more powerful and expensive models.
This iPad is perfect for everyday use. The big screen is great for watching Netflix, shopping on Amazon, browsing the Web, reading eBooks or answering email.
It looks great, with the same premium flat-edge styling as the iPad Pro and iPad Air.
It’s a great option for almost everyone except the most-demanding video editors, artists and other professional multimedia users. It also makes a great gift for a kid or older relative — anyone who doesn’t need to edit Hollywood movies on an iPad Pro.
Yeah, I wish it had Face ID, but the Touch ID button is fine.
Good for light work
The iPad 10th-gen is easily paired with a keyboard case like Apple’s Magic Keyboard Folio ($175 refurbished at Amazon) or the ESR keyboard case ($100 $76 at Amazon).
It also supports Apple Pencil (USB‑C) and Apple Pencil (1st generation). You can edit 4K video on it, and even draw on the video. (It does not support the Apple Pencil Pro).
Things to note:
Before you head over to Amazon, here are a couple of things to note:
- Lacks a headphone jack. Oh well, no biggie.
- No Home button: Good riddance I say, but may confuse some older users.
- No Lightning port: Again, I think this is a big improvement, but granny may have to upgrade her cables to USB-C.
- Limited storage: 64GB storage option offers limited space.
- No Apple Intelligence: Grandma likely gives a fig.
Wrap-up: This iPad sale is a very good deal
This is a solid deal on a surprisingly great iPad, the best low-cost iPad Apple has released for several iterations. You don’t have to settle for outdated features like the Home button or Lightning port. It’s perfectly great for most things iPads do. I even got one myself.
