The first set of iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro preorders began arriving for customers late Thursday U.S. time, with the new iPhones also officially going on sale in Apple Stores. Around the world, Apple fans lined up at stores to snatch up the latest, greatest iPhones.

Besides the iPhone 16 series, AirPods 4 and Apple Watch Series 10 preorders also began reaching customers.

Your iPhone 16, AirPods 4 preorder should arrive today

Apple announced the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, Apple Watch Series 10 and AirPods 4 at the “It’s Glowtime” event on September 9. It started accepting preorders for the devices in key markets worldwide starting September 13, with retail availability scheduled for September 20. And right on time, preorder customers are getting their new iPhone deliveries.

Starting today, customers in Australia, India, Malaysia, the United States, the United Kingdom, parts of Europe, and other countries also can purchase the new iPhones from their nearest Apple stores.

“Long lines outside & inside for the iPhone 16 first sale day/launch at Apple Saket!” wrote Ishan Agarwal on X. “The craze in India is really there.”

Early iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max reviews suggest the devices are a minor upgrade over their predecessors. The bigger display and longer battery life are the standout improvements. The regular iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus received bigger upgrades, though, making them worth your money this year.

All models in the iPhone lineup support Apple Intelligence and feature the new Camera Control, a capacitive button that can act as a shutter key in camera apps. They also provide significantly longer battery life than their predecessors.

Demand for the new iPhones appears relatively modest this year. So, if you did not preorder the iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro, you should be able to pick one up from your nearest Apple store today.

Apple’s flagship retail store is all decked out for iPhone 16’s launch

To celebrate the launch of the iPhone 16, the massive clear cube at the Apple Fifth Avenue store is glowing with Apple Intelligence colors. And Apple CEO Tim Cook appeared at the store for the iPhone 16 launch festivities.

Many Apple stores worldwide will open a couple of hours earlier than usual to accommodate preorder deliveries and sales.
