Just a day after the alleged iPhone 16 color options leaked, we now have our first glimpse of the potential iPhone 16 Pro Max colors. Apple apparently will offer its upcoming Pro iPhones in at least three shades: white, black and titanium.

Unlike in the past, it appears the company will finally adopt a deep black shade for the iPhone 16 Pro Max, giving it a stealthy look.

iPhone 16 Pro might finally get a true black shade

The iPhone Pro, Apple’s most impressive handset, typically comes in subdued colors that leave some people wanting a shade with a little more pizzazz. The black iPhone 16 Pro dummy unit shown in the leaked image from Wednesday — which sports the most sinister look since the jet black iPhone 7 — certainly looks bolder than its predecessors.

The image comes from Apple leaker Sonny Dickson, who posted a picture of iPhone 16 dummy units in five colors Tuesday.

Of the three iPhone 16 Pro dummy units posted Wednesday by Dickson, the black shade looks the most interesting, as Apple appears to have finally used a darker hue. This gives the phone an understated and stealthy look, similar to the space black M3 MacBook Pros. From the picture, it’s difficult to ascertain how well the deep black will repel fingerprints and oil stains. So far, Apple used a gray hue for iPhone Pros but marketed them as black.

While the dummy units in the picture don’t include an Apple logo, you shouldn’t expect that to go missing on the retail versions.

iPhone 16 Pro unlikely to pack major design changes

Apple typically offers its pro iPhones in four shades. If that trend continues, at least one color option is missing from the picture.

If the dummy units are anything to go by, Apple won’t make any significant design changes to the iPhone 16 Pro lineup this year. The company seemingly will stick to the same triple-camera layout as before. The design also matches the early iPhone 16 Pro dummy units that leaked in April 2024. The camera lenses and the camera bump itself could get bigger to accommodate a larger sensor.

While not obvious in the picture, the iPhone 16 Pro Max could sport a bigger 6.9-inch display. The iPhone 16 Pro might also house a 0.2-inch larger display with tiny bezels.
