Losing a wallet and all its contents can be a major drag. But rather than taking up precious space by inserting a tracking card, why not make the whole wallet a tracker? Enter your replacement wallet, Journey’s stylish LOC8 MagSafe Finder Wallet and Stand. And, oh yeah, did I mention it’s not just a magnetic iPhone wallet, it’s an iPhone stand? Yep. And it works beautifully with Find My, just like an AirTag or an Apple device you’d hate to lose.

And better yet, you can take 20% off the regular price of LOC8 through Father’s Day at Journey or Best Buy. See below.

Journey LOC8 MagSafe Finder Wallet and Stand

The Journey LOC8 MagSafe Finder Wallet and Stand, released in late 2023, is a nifty device that simply does what it says it does. For me, the only issue might be getting used to it. I’ve used a carbon fiber RFID money-clip-style wallet for years and carried my iPhone separately in a leather case in a different pocket. Now I’ve taken the case off my iPhone 13 Pro to reduce overall bulk and attached LOC8. I wonder how many times I’ll think I lost or left behind my old wallet before realizing, oh yeah, it’s stuck to my iPhone.

Setting up LOC8 is super-easy. All it entails is unboxing it from stylish paper packaging, sticking the included USB-C charging cable on it to make sure it has its six months’ supply of juice, and populating it with your most-needed cards and cash. The only bit that might be new to some people is activating the device on their Find My network. But it’s not difficult. See the steps below.

Carries about 5 cards and some cash

Well-loaded, LOC8 was about twice as thick as my iPhone 13 Pro.

Sleek and stylish, the wallet is made of midnight blue vegan leather and polycarbonate. Loaded with about five cards and a bit of cash, it’s about twice as thick as my iPhone. The wallet contains two slim pockets on the inside for some cards and what Journey calls a “pouch” on the outside. The pouch, or slot, is a bit roomier than the inside pockets and can fit cash and cards.

Journey recommends you put up to five cards in it. But I got six cards and some paper (immunization record and cash) in it pretty easily. But then I took one card out because the wallet doesn’t quite lie flush against the handset if you overstuff it. And that’s important because even though the wallet includes a strong magnet to stick to my iPhone, I found it came off from time to time as I pulled the iPhone/LOC8 from my pants pocket.

One thoughtful touch on LOC8 I should point out is the little cutout at the bottom of the “pouch.” It lets you use your thumb or finger to push the cards up so they’re a little easier to take out of the slot. Nice.

I activated the wallet on my Find My network following the simple steps below. Once I opened the Find My app, it only took a minute. Then I tested LOC8 by sounding the alarm and it worked perfectly. Now all I have to do is lose my wallet for the first time in years.

Yep, that’s right where I left it. On the desk I never leave.
