A new render shows the iPhone 16 Pro in a gold titanium finish. Rumors suggest the new color option will replace the blue titanium shade in Apple’s 2024 iPhone Pro lineup.

The mockup also shows a cutout in the iPhone 16 Pro’s case near the Power button, supposedly for the new Capture button.

Gold titanium might replace blue as one of iPhone 16 Pro’s color options

Since the 2017 iPhone X, Apple has released its flagship iPhones in multiple colors, with gold a staple option. The iPhone 15 Pro lineup bucked that trend, as it only launched in natural, blue, white and black titanium shades. With the iPhone 16 Pro series, though, Apple seemingly plans to make amends and offer a gold color again.

A mockup render shared by Majin Bu and others shows how the iPhone 16 Pro will look in its new gold titanium finish. The source of information for the mockup reportedly accurately revealed the iPhone 15 Pro’s natural titanium color option before its launch in 2024. So, there’s little reason to doubt the authenticity of the new leak.

A previous leak from another reliable Apple leaker showed off the iPhone 16 Pro in a bronze shade. It is currently difficult to ascertain which shade of bronze/gold Apple will finally go with for the iPhone 16 Pro.

iPhone 16 cases could sport a cutout for the Capture button

The new render shows a button on the right edge of the gold titanium iPhone 16 Pro, just below the Power button. This is apparently the new Capture button, which will act as a shutter button in the Camera app. You reportedly can press the force-sensitive Capture button lightly to lock focus, while a harder press will click a picture. Purportedly, sliding on the force-sensitive button will adjust the zoom level.

The new Capture button might arrive on all iPhone 16 models, not just the Pro variants. It remains unclear whether Apple will allow third-party apps to use the force-sensitive button, or if the company will reserve it for the default iOS Camera app.
