If you got a new iPhone 16 series smartphone, you probably want to protect it with a new case. And if you’re into classic materials, you can’t go wrong with a Mujjo Full Leather Case for iPhone, one of best-looking and best-made leather cases out there. For this Mujjo leather iPhone case review, I tried it out on my new iPhone 16 Pro in three different colors.
Mujjo leather iPhone case review (16 Pro)
Mujjo leather cases for iPhones are made from high-quality Velore leather from Denmark, the quality of which is easy to see and feel once you have one in your hands. It’s also why they usually make Cult of Mac‘s lists of best iPhone cases. They’re designed to protect your phone while also providing a slim, elegant look. Mujjo makes the basic leather case, which I tried, plus a wallet version as well as a faux-leather version made from corn and other cereals plus recycled polyester (MaizCase).
Priced at $59 and packaged with simple sophistication that matches the case itself, the leather case comes in a choice of six tasteful colors: black, dark tan, Monaco blue, livid green (dark green) and green smoke (grayish green). Mujjo sent me cases in dark tan, livid green and green smoke to try out. They all look great (unless you prefer, say, bright colors and bling). And because they’re leather, they’re likely to age well, developing a patina over time that will just give them more character as time goes on.
Buttons plus Camera Control cutout

I’ll note near the start that Mujjo’s cases feature metallic buttons over all controls except the crucial new one — Camera Control. For that you get a slightly recessed cutout, allowing full functionality of the button, which is designed to be pressed only part way or all the way. Apple left case makers guessing on that one, which is not unusual. Some tried to mimic what they thought Apple might do (thin synthetic sapphire layer with capacitive sensor), others played it safe with just a cutout.
Regarding the buttons, they’re a class act. Made of machined metal, they’re dyed to match or complement the color of the leather case. On the three cases I tried, the green versions had a gunmetal color to the buttons and the dark tan had a coppery hue.

Typically solid protection
With Mujjo’s full leather case, a raised bezel runs around the whole iPhone screen to protect against scratches. Though subtle, it actually keeps the screen a millimeter or two from danger, say, if you lay the phone screen down. Similarly, a raised metallic bump surrounds the camera assembly. When I placed the iPhone camera-hump down, it had less of a wobble with the case on that the naked phone does (which is one argument in favor of the slight heft a case adds).
The case also covers the base of the phone without blocking the speakers or charging port, where cutouts appear. So that helps provide the same exact functionality I’d have with just the naked phone.
It’s important to note how much more my iPhone is with the Mujjo case than without it. Leather may not seem super-grippy, compared to something like silicone, but it makes the titanium iPhone a lot less slick in the hand. I felt I could hold it more securely. And on the inside of the case, iPhone gets protection from scratches via a soft microfiber lining.

Mujjo leather iPhone case review: Bottom line
I recommend Mujjo’s Full Leather Case for iPhone 16 Pro, or for any handset in the series. At $59, the case hit just the right level of high quality, and for a reasonable price. Time will tell how well the cases age, but I’ll probably be on to another iPhone long before any problems appear.
