To keep your phone propped up at a convenient reading angle, you need a special case with a kickstand or some sort of (typically bulky) iPhone stand. But over at Kickstarter, a new solution just snapped into view.
SnapWings are a comfy fabric add-on for iPhone (or any phone, really). They make it easy for the phone to hold itself at an ideal angle. They adhere to the back of the smartphone via a strong adhesive behind the nifty wing design. Just press the button in the center, and the “wings” deploy to support the phone for hands-free use. When finished, they return to being flush with the back of the phone.
This is usually the role of a little plastic kickstand that’s part of a bulkier case. Or a totally separate tripod or other device. What makes SnapWings cool is that they’re low-profile, comfortable and can be used whether or not you’ve got a case on your phone.
For those of us who enjoy using our iPhones sans case, this is a great solution. SnapWings are sleek enough that they don’t disrupt that classic in-hand feel.
