The Geo Digital Pencil from ESR costs a quarter of what Apple Pencil Pro does, but both iPad styli support Find My so they can be easily located. And they cling magnetically to an iPad, and can be used for writing or sketching.
In addition, ESR also unveiled a mouse that magnetically attaches to a MacBook for easy portability.
ESR Geo Digital Pencil works with Apple’s Find My network
Apple Pencil Pro is the 500-pound gorilla of iPad styli. It’s the one with the most features and the best advertising, but it’s also the most expensive.
The ESR Geo Digital Pencil can’t come close to competing feature-for-feature, but even basic iPad styli like this one can handle taking handwritten notes or entering digital signatures. It even supports palm rejection plus tilt sensitivity.
And ESR built in a stand-out feature: Find My support. If the device gets misplaced, the user can go into the Find My app on their iPad to set off an audible alarm on the stylus.
As an additional trick, tap the blunt end of the Geo Digital Pencil to open the iPad’s home screen. Double tap to show the iPadOS multitasking view. This makes use of Bluetooth, and the accessory’s battery level gets displayed on the tablet’s list along with other accessories.
When the battery gets low, the stylus charges via a USB-C cable, and ESR promises that half an hour of power via the included USB-C cable delivers up to 12 hours of continuous use.
The accessory’s maker also says, “It is widely compatible with all iPad models released after 2018 (excluding iPad 10 for magnetic attachment).”
The ESR Geo Digital Pencil can be purchased now for $29.99.

With the giant CES 2025 trade show going on this week, ESR also took the opportunity to unveil the HaloLock MagMouse Wireless Mouse. This stands out from a very crowded pack by coming with a base that magnetically attaches to tablets or laptops. Just put the mouse in its base and it’s ready to be carried around — no pocket needed.
The accessory can switch between 2.4G and Bluetooth (BT5.0) connections and two devices, including MacBook, iPad and Windows laptops.
“As the world’s first magnetic rechargeable mouse, the MagMouse marks ESR’s official entry into the productivity and mobile workspace,” said Tim Wu, ESR’s CEO.
ESR expects to launch the product in April of 2025. Pricing is not yet available, though.
