In hit Apple TV+ sci-fi series Silo, Rebecca Ferguson’s engineer character, Juliette, spent her whole life toiling in the bowels of a giant tube sunk into the soil, protected along with the last 10,000 people on Earth from a supposedly deadly outside world. But she’s willing to risk venturing outside to find the truth in the season 2 trailer of dystopian drama. Apple TV+ dropped it Monday.

Update: Silo‘s eagerly awaited 10-episode second season emerged on Apple TV+ Friday, November 15, with the first episode. Tagline: “Juliette finds sanctuary in a silo long ago destroyed by war, thinking she’s alone.” Want a quick taste? Watch the first 5 minutes here.

Silo season 2 ventures into the outside world starting November 15

Silo is based on Hugh Howey’s New York Times-bestselling trilogy of dystopian novels. Created by Emmy-nominated screenwriter and show-runner Graham Yost, the series stars Swedish actor Rebecca Ferguson. She also executive produces it.

The trailer for the second season shows Juliette venturing out into the world everyone in the silo believes is toxic. Supposedly everyone who goes out into that apparent hellscape dies. And the trailer keeps you guessing, though it appears Juliette survives her explorations and even becomes a folk hero to the silo’s population (though a lot of them assume she’s dead, of course — that’s what Tim Robbins’ character, powerful head of IT Bernard Holland, wants them to think, anyway).

Here’s how the streamer describes the show leading up to its eagerly awaited new season:

Silo is the story of the last ten thousand people on earth, their mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built and those who try to find out face fatal consequences. Ferguson stars as Juliette, an engineer who seeks answers about a loved one’s murder and tumbles onto a mystery that goes far deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don’t kill you, the truth will.

A bonafide hit for Apple TV+

Season one, in which Juliette rises to become the unlikely sheriff of the silo, a position that exposes her to secrets, lies and conspiracies, ranked as one of the most popular series on any streaming service. And it earned an 88% critics approval rating on review-aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes. In season 2, Ferguson stars alongside Tim Robbins, Common, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Shane McRae, Remmie Milner, Clare Perkins, Billy Postlethwaite, Rick Gomez, Caitlin Zoz, Tanya Moodie, Iain Glen and new addition Steve Zahn (War for the Planet of the Apes).

Apple Studios produces the show for Apple TV+. Executive producers are Yost, Michael Dinner, Nina Jack, Joanna Thapa, Ferguson, Morten Tyldum, Howey, Fred Golan, Rémi Aubuchon and AMC Studios.
