Don’t worry about getting left hanging by Silo. The sci-fi mystery series will go all the way to the conclusion of its story now that Apple TV+ gave the go-ahead for two more seasons on Monday.
It’s really not a surprise — Silo is one of the most popular shows on any streaming service, and draws praise from critics too.
“I’ve loved every minute of bringing Juliette to the screen and am immensely proud of what we’ve all created with Silo since the first episode,” said Rebecca Ferguson, who stars as Juliette Nichols in the series. “I have always felt passionately about telling the entire story contained within Hugh Howey’s books, so I couldn’t be happier that audiences around the world have enthusiastically embraced the show.”
Silo coming back for a season 3 and 4
The Silo TV series is based on the bestselling books by Hugh Howey, and that name recognition gave the show a boost when it premiered in 2023. Adapting a bestseller for streaming isn’t a guarantee of success, but it certainly helps.
And by all reports, Apple TV+ turned an excellent book into a brilliant series. The review-aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes gave the first season of Silo an 88% critics’ approval rating, and season two garnered a 96% approval score.
And the show found plenty of fans. Season one spent time as the most popular series on any streaming service, and while season two isn’t quite that successful, it has stayed in the top 10.
And fans will get an opportunity for more, as Silo season three and season four scored Apple TV+ approval.
“It has been a richly rewarding experience to adapt Hugh’s epic novels with our partners at Apple, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring this complete story to the screen over the course of four seasons,” said showrunner Graham Yost.
Excited to share that “Silo” will return for a third AND fourth season! We’re thrilled to support the imagination and inspiration out of the UK as they continue to create world-class films and series. pic.twitter.com/hmtszs7hf5

As the showrunner indicated, Silo season four will finish the ongoing story and bring the series to its conclusion.
“With the final two chapters of ‘Silo,’ we can’t wait to give fans of the show an incredibly satisfying conclusion to the many mysteries and unanswered questions contained within the walls of these silos,” said Yost.
For those who’ve missed out, Apple’s official description of the series says:
Silo is the story of the last ten thousand people on Earth, their mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built, and those who try to find out face fatal consequences. Rebecca Ferguson stars as Juliette, an engineer who seeks answers about a loved one’s murder and tumbles onto a mystery that goes far deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don’t kill you, the truth will.
Season two is streaming now
The first five episodes of Silo season two can be enjoyed now, while the next is coming on Friday. Watch to catch up? Season one is ready to be binge-watched.
Apple TV+ didn’t announce on Monday when seasons three and four will premiere, but there was about a year between the first two seasons, so we can hope for more Silo in 2025 and 2026.
Streaming Silo, plus many other series and films, comes with a subscription to Apple TV+. The service is $9.99 per month with a seven-day free trial. You can also get it via any tier of the Apple One subscription bundle.
And Apple’s streaming video service also includes much more, of course. There’s a library of drama, comedies, musicals, children’s shows, nature documentaries, etc.
